Jonny, Janet, Donna, Gaz and Louise are back, plus there’s a new bar manager at the Archer called Tim. In Series Seven, Janet, Donna, and Louise compete to convince Tim that they have the best personality to be the Archer’s new barmaid. Jonny wins a competition to go shark-jumping ... in Hawaii. And Gaz desperately tries to do something more exciting than Jonny ... in Runcorn. Just as Gaz finally manages to amaze the crowd in the Archer with his talents, Janet bursts in and announces that Jonny has been killed... by the shark.
At Jonny’s funeral, Janet can’t believe that her husband is dead, and gets hysterical – with laughter. Discovering that there are five stages of grief – Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance, she proclaims DABDA and decides that for baby Corinthian’s sake she must get through all five stages as quick as possible. The trouble is that there’s no-one for Janet to take her anger out on – until Gaz oh-so painfully obliges her.
