Series 5 of the award-winning spy drama opens with an explosive two-part special which sees Britain on the verge of anarchy. The growing threat of terrorism, fuel shortages and chronic loss of confidence in the government are all about to bring Britain to a standstill.

MI5 supremo Harry Pearce and team leader Adam Carter – who both survived becoming the targets of an ex-MI5 sniper in season 4 – soon begin to suspect that rogue members of the British 'Establishment' may be sabotaging the system in order to bring about a radical change of government.

Hermione Norris joins the cast as head-strong, high-flying MI6 agent Ros Myers who soon makes her presence felt on The Grid and instantly generates an undeniable spark with Adam.
